I can almost imagine what it was like in 1945 on that dark February night. The sailor operating this device picked up a strange disturbance on his screen caused by the radar emissions of the Japanese radar.
The Japanese were completely unable to detect the Batfish. This is even more amazing since the Batfish would get solid radar contact on the enemy sub.
With the operator's words"..Captain to the con" a tense and exciting three day battle began.
