That is precisely why tandem jumps are so successful. 

You are harnessed to a truly MASTER instructor!

To get a tandem instructor certificate, you have completed a rigorous training program, demonstrated complete mastery of the specific system, passed a complete detailed written exam, and finally pass an FAA Class three Medical Exam.

And you can never get apart from your instructor during the entire ride!
